Privacy Policy

C-Trace ForensIQ ("the App") is an investigation support tool built by C-Trace Soft Solutions Pvt Ltd, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India ("we", "us"). The App is restricted to registered, authorised law-enforcement subscribers. This policy explains what data the App handles and how.

1. Information we collect

• Account data — your registered mobile number, name and subscription status, used to sign you in (OTP verification) and manage your licence.
• Device data — device model, OS version and an app-generated device identifier, used for session security and to limit account sharing.
• Photographs you upload — photos you submit for face search or add to the offender photo database as part of authorised investigative work. These are stored on our servers and associated with your registered number.
• Usage and audit logs — actions performed in the App (searches, uploads, exports) with timestamps and IP address. These logs exist to maintain an accountability trail for investigative use.

2. What stays on your device

Analysis of bank/UPI statements, credit reports and chat exports is performed entirely on your device. Those files and their contents are not uploaded to our servers. Locally saved reports remain on your device until you delete them.

3. How photographs are processed

Photos submitted for face search are processed on our secure servers and matched using Amazon Web Services Rekognition, which acts as our processing service provider. Photos are used solely for investigative face-similarity lead generation and are not used for advertising, profiling of app users, or any commercial purpose.

4. Sharing

We do not sell or rent any data. Data is shared only with: (a) our processing providers (cloud hosting and AWS Rekognition) to operate the service; and (b) public authorities where disclosure is required by law.

5. Retention and deletion

Account and uploaded data are retained while your subscription is active. You may request deletion of your account at any time from within the App (menu → Delete My Account); your account and associated server-side data are permanently deleted within 72 hours of the request. You may also contact support to exercise deletion or correction requests.

6. Security

All communication with our servers uses HTTPS. Access is protected by OTP-verified, token-based authentication with role-based access control, and sensitive actions are audit-logged.

7. Permissions used by the App

• Camera (optional) — only when you choose to capture a photo.
• Photos/files — via the system picker, only for files you select.

8. Eligibility

The App is not directed at the general public or at children. Access is limited to verified law-enforcement subscribers.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the current version will always be available at this address.
